Rune Farming Guide for Newbies

Runes Overview

Rune is a special type of item in Diablo II. It is similar to gem and jewel but the difference is that you can create an item with many special features by choosing the right rune and using the right item. Also, one thing to note is that the ability to drop runes is not affected by the character's MF. It only depends on the mob's mlvl. Specifically as follows:

mlvl

Vex

The best RUNE swords

  • Hammerdin : chaos sanc: mobs there are immune to all 4 elements, also have iron maiden and lower rs

  • BlizSor : Mep, ancient turnel, can run more andariel but quite long and dangerous

  • FireSor : Mep, Andariel (extremely fast), andariel rs fire -50, ideal with firesor

  • LightSor : Pin, Shrek, Edrick, super unique, many minions, low health (if carrying infi, still run chaos sanc well)

  • Winddruid : from spider forest to lower kuzard, mobs here are very crowded but have little health, perfect for wind

Farm Rune Guide for Newbie

1. Beginning

Regarding the issue of farming Runes in the game, there are many sources that talk about this issue, which may be a bit confusing for you to read. I would like to summarize for you newbies the following simple issues:

  • With the characteristics of Diablo 2 playing online in general and playing in the D2TM server in particular, we usually Solo Maps so the Room Drop level will be according to Players X = 1 (maximum is 8 Players).

  • There will be a 43.4% chance that monsters, bosses, and chests will not have enough items. (In D2TM, I'm not sure exactly what the drop rate is, but I feel like it's much higher than in the original).

2. Rune Farming Directions

Countess Act I

  • Normal : El Rune -> Ral Rune .

  • Nightmare : El Rune -> Io Rune (has the highest drop rate Ko Rune ).

  • Hell : El Rune -> Ist Rune (has the highest drop rate Lo Rune ).

Farm Rune at Hell ForgeQuest 2 Act IV :

  • Normal : El Rune -> Amn Rune.

  • Nightmare : Sol Rune -> Um Rune.

  • Hell : Hel Rune -> Gul Rune.

Farm Rune in Area 81: (Map Level 81 -> 99):

  • However, I still recommend that you focus on farming on map 85 to get the most effective amount of Items and Runes.

  • For Runes higher than Gul Rune (from Vex Rune -> Zod Rune ), we recommend you focus on maps with Area Level >= 81 and hope for the "CHARGE" and "LUCK" that our ancestors left behind.

  • Secret Cow is a great place to farm runes on our server.

  • The % Better Chance of Getting Magic Item (abbreviated as %MF) parameter does not help increase Rune drop rate.

  • The most effective rune farming strategy is to build a strong character to kill monsters quickly and a lot to have more chances to drop runes.

  • If possible, when farming, you should log 3-4 characters into the room to pt together to increase the parameters of the room Players X = 3-4, reducing the rate of monsters dying without dropping enough items to 29.5%. This means we have more chances to get runes.

  • You need to master the Horadric Cube rune combination formula to combine large Runes from small Runes.

Most importantly, don't wonder why you run 50 rooms and still don't get any High Rune. You have to run hundreds or even "K" rooms and get nothing, then you're "BLACK".

BIG REWARDS ARE ONLY FOR THOSE WHO KNOW HOW TO TRY WITHOUT GETTING DISCOURAGED. DON'T EXPECT TO FIND A "ZOD" AFTER RUNNING THROUGH A FEW ROOMS.
